In 1974,
my father, while working at what was then Sperry Univac,
undertook the initiative of building a small, "mom
and pop" style tax business at night. He began
renting office space from an insurance agent in the
evenings that year. Over the course of the next eleven
years he built his business into a self-sustaining entity
focused upon a dedicated client-base who trusted him to
the utmost degree.
In
1985 he decided to leave Sperry Univac when acquisition by
Unisys seemed inevitable. He relied upon the business he
spent the last eleven years building and put his future in
the hands of his clients. It was a success.
He
had a philosophy for business:
"Keep it simple, honest. Do your job well.
The rest will follow." From this, he secured a
dedicated client-base that helped him grow through word of
mouth.
Contained
on these pages are the business initiatives based upon his

Carickhoff Accountants, Inc. will follow in the upcoming

He would
